Karly B. Smith is a transactional attorney at WhiteBird, PLLC, where she focuses her practice on corporate and real estate related matters. A proud Brevard County native, Karly is deeply committed to the future of the community she has always called home. Her local roots fuel her dedication to helping clients navigate complex legal matters throughout Brevard County and across the state of Florida.
Karly began her higher education journey by earning her Associate of Arts degree concurrently with her graduation from Satellite High School. She then went on to complete her undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida in just two years, all while holding several positions within the Florida Legislature—including serving as a Legislative Aide in the Florida Senate. These formative experiences instilled in her a strong work ethic and a lasting commitment to community advancement.
She continued her legal education at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center on a full academic scholarship. While at LSU Law, Karly earned multiple CALI Awards for receiving the highest grade among her peers in the courses the Law of Gifts and Trusts and Small Business and Community Development Clinic. In her final semester, she was recognized as a Paul M. Hebert Scholar, an academic honor awarded to students ranking in the top 10% of their class during a given term.
During law school, Karly gained practical legal experience across several disciplines. She served as a Law Clerk in Louisiana’s 19th Judicial District Court, completed an externship with the Louisiana Department of Revenue, worked as a student attorney in LSU’s Small Business and Community Development Clinic, and returned to WhiteBird, PLLC each summer as a Law Clerk. These roles provided her with a strong foundation in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, nonprofit structuring, tax, and trademark matters.
Outside of her legal practice, Karly enjoys spending time on Florida’s waterways, tennis, baking, and cheering on the LSU Tigers.
